Ella U Sio Wai is a Senior Associate with Lupi & Associates and specializes in in arbitration, dispute resolution and litigation, banking and finance and corporate, M&A, and commercial matters in a diverse range of sectors including automotive and aviation, betting and gaming, consumer and retail, financial services, projects and infrastructure, real estate and telecom, media, entertainment and technology.
Ella also has broad experience acting as a lawyer on several private equity, investment funds, securities, and debt capital market transactions at the core of the Macau economic diversification efforts. In her litigation practice, Ella represents a broad range of local, Chinese, and international individual and corporate clients, state-owned and private, in their commercial, civil, criminal, and administrative court proceedings with the Macau Judicial Base Court, the Court of Second Instance and the Court of Final Appeal, including recognition and enforcement of external decisions, and employment, immigration, marriage and inheritance disputes.
Ella is also experienced with the legal and administrative procedures of Macau real estate investments, financing, and leasing transactions, as well as trademark registration and litigation matters. Before joining Lupi & Associates, Ella worked with two large Macau law firms where she acquired broad experience in all the technical aspects of commercial law having assisted dozens of local, Chinese, and international clients with their incorporation procedures, share transfers, capital increases, and enterprise transfers, including drafting reviewing a broad range of commercial contracts and issuing the relevant legal opinions.
Ella U Sio Wai holds a Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) with Honors from the Faculty of Law of the University of Macau, an L.L.B. Exchange Program from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra in Portugal, and a Macau Monetary Authority (AMCM) and Macau Center of Legal and Judiciary Training (CFJJ) Training Course on the Macau Bond Market and Applicable Legislation.
Ella is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, and English.
